Gelsey Goodstein, M.D.
Dr. Goodstein has been an attending physician with the Stanford Hospitalist Medical Group since June 2014. Prior to joining SHMG, she was a chief resident in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/West Los Angeles VA, where she also completed her internship and residency. She was involved in clinical research in the field of endocrinology during her residency, and was first author on a paper studying ketosis prone type 2 diabetes in the veteran population.
Dr. Goodstein earned her BS degree in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from the college honors program in 2006. She was heavily involved in bench research in the department of molecular and developmental biology, and she co-authored two articles that were published in “Genetics.” She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in 2010.
Dr. Goodstein resides with her husband in Los Angeles. In her free time she enjoys running, dancing, and playing with her two dachshunds.
